Oracle Identity and Access Management 12cPS3 is now available

Oracle Identity and Access Management 12cPS3 version has been released and available as of August 31, 2017. Here is the announcement from Oracle.

Note: In 12cPS3 version, Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) and Oracle Identity Governance terms are synonymous and are used interchangeably.

In Oracle Identity Governance OIG 12.2.1.4.0 onwards, SSO can be enabled using SAML2. Also, any other IDP that supports SAML2 can be used as well for configuring SSO login flow.

 The supported WebLogic server is Oracle WebLogic Server 12c (12.2.1.3.0) and Oracle HTTP Server 12c (12.2.1.3.0) which are part of the Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c (12.2.1.3.0).

 The components of Oracle Identity and Access Management 12cPS3 (12.2.1.3.0) are - Oracle Access Management, Oracle Identity Governance, Oracle Unified Directory, and Oracle Internet Directory. Here is more information about OAM 12c.

These are 4 main components of Oracle IAM 12cPS3 - (1) OAM, (2) OIM or OIG, (3) OUD, and (4) OID


Supported Directories in Oracle IAM 12cPS3 (12.2.1.3.0)
The 12cPS3 release supports OID 11.1.1.7.0, 11.1.1.9.0 and 12.2.1.3.0. So OID has been released in 12c, this is contrary to earlier announcement that OID development will be discontinued post 11.1.1.9.0 release. This is good news that OID continues to be in development and supported in 12cPS3. OUD also has a new release in 12cPS3. However, OVD does not have a new release in 12cPS3.

Good new is that all products in Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c PS3 support OAM 11.1.2.3.0 and OAM 12.2.1.3.0, i.e. both OAM 11gR2PS3 and 12cPS3 are supported (see below table)

Supported Webgates in Oracle IAM 12cPS3 ()
WebGate 12.2.1.3.0 supports OHS 12c (12.2.1.3) and OAM 12cPS3 (12.2.1.3).
WebGate 11.1.2.3.0 supports OAM 12cPS3 12.2.1.3.0 and OHS 11gR1 11.1.1.9.

 Note about WebGate in version 12c: WebGate is shipped as a module with OHS 12c, so no need to download webgates separately. For Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c, the WebGate software is installed as part of the Oracle HTTP Server 12c software installation.
Same is true for Oracle Traffic Director 12c, webgates are shipped as module with in 12c Traffic Director
With 12c version onwards, WebGate gets installed when you install Oracle HTTP Server, so you do not need a separate installer for WebGate. Hence this is very convenient and a step saver since OHS 12c comes pre-bundled with WebGate. In other words if you have installed OHS 12c server then no need for separately installing a WebGate!

Recently we got a OVA file for a virtual machine. The vendor instructions were to import the ova file in vmware Workstation, Player for Windows/Linux, Fusion for Mac, and VirtualBox as well.  The instructions were to take the available package and launch the VM with VMware workstation. SOAPUI - import certificate

Note: SoapUI has two versions, one is open source and second Professional version. The open source can be download here . (confirmed link 12/19/2018). SSL Handshake issue:   There is an Issue in SoapUI version 5.3.0 (and 5.2.0 version) with SSL handshake error. It was resolved by updating below in vmoptions file ( refer here ). However, the error that shows up while trying to load wsdl is "Error loading WSDL" as below The fix is to Enable TLS 1.2 protocol for SOAP/REST calls in SoapUI, by ammending the vmoptions file to add the directive for TLS as (-Dsoapui.https.protocols=TLSv1.2). Refer here . Update: Version 5.5.0 does not have this issue. If you are on 5.3.0 better upgrade to 5.5.0 which is available now (Feb 2019).
