Oracle EBS integration with Oracle IDCS

Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) can now be easily integrated with Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS). You can read the earlier blog which provided EBS integration with OAM and OID here. However, when using Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS) there is no requirement of using OAM or OID. You can integrate your on-premise EBS deployment with Oracle Cloud Identity Service.
Here is a side by side comparison of the two deployment architectures -

You don't need to configure Oracle E-Business Suite with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) Access Gate or OAM for integration with the Oracle Identity Cloud Service. Identity Cloud Service E-Business Suite Asserter replaces OAM Access Gate as the authentication mechanism for your Oracle E-Business Suite.
Note: Your Oracle E-Business Suite must not be integrated with Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Internet Directory, or using any other SSO profile. If so, then remove the integration between these components and restart the servers before using the EBS Asserter.

What is EBS Asserter?

EBS Asserter is a lightweight Java application, called Identity Cloud Service Asserter for E-Business Suite. With the E-Business Suite Asserter, you can implement SSO for Oracle e-Business Suite and other applications. The IDCS EBS Asserter acts as the interface between the identity token issued by IDCS and the user session created in EBS. It is actually a war file that you will need to deploy on your WebLogic server.

The main features of EBS Asserter are

(a) Non-intrusive solution that doesn't require configuration changes in your Oracle e-Business Suite environment.
(b) Need to be deployed in WebLogic Server 12c using secure communications (SSL/TLS)
(c) Supports Oracle e-Business Suite, EBS Asserter, and Oracle Identity Cloud Service Single logout.
(d) Multiple access modes for SSO with Oracle e-Business Suite:
-Access Oracle e-Business Suite using the EBS Asserter’s direct URL link (bookmark)
-Access Oracle e-Business Suite using Oracle Identity Cloud Service's My Apps page
-Access Oracle e-Business Suite using the EBS Asserter's login using a redirect parameter
-Access Oracle e-Business Suite using previously bookmarked Oracle EBS URLs

Recently we got a OVA file for a virtual machine. SOAPUI - import certificate

Note: SoapUI has two versions, one is open source and second Professional version. The open source can be download here . (confirmed link 12/19/2018). SSL Handshake issue:   There is an Issue in SoapUI version 5.3.0 (and 5.2.0 version) with SSL handshake error. It was resolved by updating below in vmoptions file ( refer here ). However, the error that shows up while trying to load wsdl is "Error loading WSDL" as below The fix is to Enable TLS 1.2 protocol for SOAP/REST calls in SoapUI, by ammending the vmoptions file to add the directive for TLS as (-Dsoapui.https.protocols=TLSv1.2). Refer here . Update: Version 5.5.0 does not have this issue. If you are on 5.3.0 better upgrade to 5.5.0 which is available now (Feb 2019).
